Uranium Grindhouse Gang
Do you love to entertain, to be part of a team that tells stories that grab people’s attention and makes the apocalypse feel like it is real?
End of Days Entertainment is looking to build a cast team for telling stories, both live at events and as part of our movie shorts team. Actors and support members are needed.
Overview
- Must be comfortable acting/role playing in front of people.
Characters may not always be positive role models. People may laugh. People may get mad at the character. We strive to maintain character during the scenes. - There are no qualifications on gender, age, disability/ability, race, or weight.
The apocalypse is made up of everything, and we will make roles for everyone we add to the cast. - We film our short film project on Wednesday from 10am till we are done.
These movies are going to be shown at the Aftermath Theater during events, and posted to our YouTube page and web page. Cast and crew will be listed in the credits for bragging rights. - The live shows will take place Friday and Saturday.
They are short skits hosted in a few locations around site that will lay the ground work for bigger stories to come. Not all Cast will be in all scenes.
What you get for your involvement:
Being chosen for the team will get you a free pass to Detonation, and a cast dinner on Wednesday. This is not like our other volunteering positions, and can be combined with regular volunteer shifts to gain an additional ticket for a friend or a free ticket to Reclamation Day or Festival of Ash. Once chosen, you will be first in line each year for reprising roles and taking new roles. You will also be given access to our off season discord where we discuss upcoming projects.
Unlike the normal 8 hour volunteer shift, taking on this role will eat up more of your event. Make sure you are okay with this kind of investment in your event time. We will strive to make this as entertaining for cast and crew as it is for the spectators.
You do not need to maintain character outside the scripted performances. If you take on a role that you feel like maintaining for more than the acts, you are welcome to, as long as it does not clash or cause confusion with the stories we are telling.
Wardrobe
We will be providing key costume pieces for specific characters that will remain property of End of Days Entertainment. You are welcome to use these pieces if you are maintaining character throughout the event. Return event costumes to the Triple Six Saloon in Turbulence. Base costume will be provided by the actor (what ever your wasteland basic is).
This will be fun! No stress, no yelling directors, no one being asked to do uncomfortable, unsavory, or dangerous acts. We will have stunt roles available for people wanting to get more physical. Cast can always say they are not comfortable with any portion of the script and we will modify to accommodate.
Safety
Each live scene crew will be accompanied by a security member, who will hold a flag indicating that a scene is in progress, and will make sure spectators do not get involved in unwanted ways. If anything feels dangerous, make your security person aware.
Additional Notes
Cast must arrive to Detonation no later than Tuesday by noon and be ready for the first meeting Tuesday at 4pm. This meeting will finalize plans for the rest of the event.
The deadline for submitting an application is April 1st.
Scripts will be emailed out a month before the event. These are rough scripts, and if you have creative ideas, we welcome you adding your creativity to the characters. We are not professionals here. You don’t need to memorize lines, just get a feel for the story and characters and we’ll work from there.
The live shows and movie may include different characters.
Your time is valuable, and so is your talent and enthusiasm!
If you have some great skills to share, want to be part of a fun team, make new friends, and help build the Uranium Springs community, please consider signing up.
